Father Daughter Story

My father instilled in me the fact that I am no less than a son, and it truly helped in making me the strong woman I am today. Being born in a society where female feticide is so common, my dad celebrated my birth and distributed sweets among the hospital staff 24 years back. I was born to the man who I call my Rabb (God). He raised me no differently than my brother, rather I was always prioritized. From giving me the best lifestyle, from feeding me all my meals with his own hands, from doing my ponytails to listening to my heartbreak stories, this man has done it all. He has always stood by my side like a pillar of strengthWhen I sit back and remember all the countless times that he carried me on his shoulders, and put me to sleep with his lullabies I know God had the best planned for me.

The one man that always encouraged me to reach for the stars is my dad. I am thankful for all the things he prepared me for. I always wanted to be a Lawyer and he sent me to another city to fulfill all my dreams, he has cried with me during my emotional breakdowns and laughed with me in my happiest moments, he has been the best critic and my biggest motivator. Having passed Law, he sent me to Canada to fulfill my dreams and here I am pursuing my Post graduate course in Human Resources Management. There is no looking back when you have your best friend in your dad. The age when most of the parents are worried about getting their daughters married, my dad is continuously driving me to higher aspirations.

Thank you for the faith that you’ve always shown in me Dad and to all the fathers who let their daughters fly high in the sky with the wings of their own, you’ve made us the women we are today! Thank you Dad. Thanks for all the times you lifted me up and helped me believe that anything was possible. I hope you know how blessed I feel to have you in my life, today and always.

I’m proud to be your daughter.
