Published by laadliyan on

She is a first-generation South Asian Canadian woman born to immigrant parents. Ramneet is the first in her family to achieve a graduate degree. She holds a masters of social work and is a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Ramneet runs a private practice where she provides counselling services to women, youth and immigrants experiencing depression and anxiety through Bayridge Counselling. She has approximately ten years of experience in the field and is involved in projects focusing on violence against women prevention and youth mental health. In addition to this, she is an executive committee member of Laadliyan. Ramneet has broken gender stereotypes by challenging gender inequality in her own life. “Whenever I find myself in a situation where I see oppression against females, I raise a voice and speak up. Mentorship is something I greatly value, I love to see other women excel and achieve. When I have the privilege of being a role model and helping women I feel a great sense of honour and fulfillment. I trust that future female leaders will be passionate, grounded and willing to work tirelessly to support women in need. Don’t be afraid to see other women succeed. For myself, when women succeed we all win!”
